RAFAEL NADAL BEATS ROGER FEDERER TO WIN D'ITALIA OPEN!
After 5 hours and 10 minutes of nail-biting tennis, Nadal beat Federer in 5 sets with the final score of 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6.
Federer bungled a double championship point on Nadal's serve to bring the game to a tie-break. One unforced error on Federer's part was enough to hand Nadal the championship with a 5th set tie-break score of (7-5).
This win is monumental to Nadal, as this is his 53rd straight win on clay courts, equalling the current record which was set 20 years ago. Beating the world no. 1, barely 3 weeks after doing so previously at the finals of the Monte Carlo Open, also cements his reputation as "King of Clay".
I'm a supporter of Nadal, so i'm definitely very happy and relieved at the result. When it was Federer's championship points, i was definitely worried. But Nadal and the Aeropro Drive proved victor in the end. Hooray! =D
